LiveWire Honcho electric motorcycle launch

Overview

LiveWire, a brand under Harley-Davidson, has introduced the Honcho electric mini-motorcycle, which is available in two distinct versions: the Street model for urban use and the Honcho Trail for private terrain. The Trail version lacks official road homologation.

The motorcycles feature a swappable battery system consisting of two 3.48 kWh removable batteries, allowing for a minimum range of 85 km and a top speed of 94 km/h. The Street model weighs 121 kg, while the Trail version weighs 115 kg. Batteries can be recharged from 20% to 80% in approximately two hours.

Additionally, the S4 Honcho Street model has been approved by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) for use in rider training programs. This allows new riders to potentially earn endorsements using an electric model with a simplified twist-and-go mechanism. To assist in training, the bike includes reduced-speed riding profiles that limit speeds to 18 mph and 28 mph.
