Local government social programs in Isla Mujeres

Overview

In Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, municipal authorities have implemented various community outreach and social welfare initiatives. Under the “ATEndiendo a la Gente” program, the local government has provided administrative, legal, and general medical services—including nutrition and psychological guidance—directly to the La Luna neighborhood.

Further healthcare efforts include the “Especialistas DIFerentes” program, which offers specialized medical services such as dermatology, psychiatry, and pediatrics through the Center for Diabetes Prevention and Care. Additionally, the “Agua para Ti” initiative has been deployed in the La Guadalupana neighborhood to provide families with access to potable water to reduce household expenses.
