Los Azules copper project development

In early July 2026 the Los Azules copper project announced plans for a $300 million initial public offering to raise capital for developing the mine in Argentina’s San Juan province.

By the end of July, the project had moved beyond financing to detailed engineering and design work. The company completed technical studies, selected an energy supply option that will reinforce the province’s power grid without affecting local electricity, and committed to powering the operation entirely with renewable energy. The mine design targets a 74 % reduction in water use compared with conventional milling and a carbon intensity 72 % below the industry average. The project is approved under Argentina’s Large Investment Incentive Regime, has a published feasibility study, and secured a collaboration agreement with the International Finance Corporation.

Both snapshots therefore chart the progression of Los Azules from fundraising intentions to concrete planning and sustainability commitments.
