Louisville and Syracuse collegiate sports matchups

In October 2026, Louisville defeated Syracuse 34-26 in an ACC football game. Louisville quarterback Lincoln Kienholz recorded three total touchdowns, while Syracuse receiver Umari Hatcher achieved 224 receiving yards. Syracuse suffered three second-half turnovers during the match.

In November 2026, the two universities met again in the ACC field hockey quarterfinals. Syracuse defeated Louisville 4-3, allowing Syracuse to advance to the semifinals for the third consecutive season. Syracuse player Aubrey Turner contributed to all four of her team's goals through one goal and three assists.

Following the quarterfinal win, Syracuse advanced to the ACC Championship game after defeating top-seeded North Carolina 3-2 in a semifinal match. The game was decided by a 3-1 shootout win after a tie through regulation and overtime. North Carolina’s attempt at a tenth consecutive title was impacted by a controversial video review in the 58th minute, where a goal by Ryleigh Heck was disallowed because officials ruled a whistle had blown before the ball crossed the line. Syracuse, the No. 16 seed, reached its first title game since 2015 behind regulation goals from Hattie Madden and Aubrey Turner.
