Luigi Viscovo road crash investigation

On 26 July 2026, 62‑year‑old logistics entrepreneur Luigi Viscovo was killed in a violent collision in the Starze tunnel on State Road 18 near Vallo della Lucania, Italy. He was riding a motorcycle with his wife, Carmela, who survived with serious injuries. Four days later, on 1 August, Viscovo’s funeral was held in Eboli. An autopsy revealed that he died from multiple severe fractures caused by a lateral impact after a 19‑year‑old driver attempted an unsafe overtaking maneuver inside the unlit Pattano tunnel.
