Mafia video game franchise technical upgrades

Overview

Speculation regarding native current-generation upgrades for the Mafia franchise began following ESRB rating listings for Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition. These listings suggested that the titles were being prepared for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S to provide technical improvements such as enhanced graphics and faster loading times.

Following these indications, developer Hangar 13 released a technical update for Mafia III: Definitive Edition to mark its tenth anniversary. The update enables gameplay at up to 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, addresses visual consistency and bugs, and improves trophy and achievement tracking. A technical update for the PC version was also provided alongside a limited-time store discount.
