Wizards of the Coast has released further details regarding the ‘Reality Fracture’ expansion, scheduled for release on October 2, 2026. The set serves as the conclusion to the Metronome Arc. In this narrative, Jace Beleren—now known as ‘The Theorist’—seeks to replace the existing Multiverse with the Echoverse, a controlled alternative reality. This Echoverse is designed as a conceptual prison to eliminate suffering by overwriting history so that threats like the ~~Phyrexians and~~ Phyrexians, Nicol ~~Bolas~~ Bolas, and the Eldrazi never existed. ~~This shift positions~~ However, this new reality threatens to overwrite and consume the original Multiverse, positioning Jace as an antagonist to former allies, including Ajani and Chandra. Gameplay features include the ‘Empower Jace’ mechanic, which allows players to increase the loyalty of a Jace planeswalker ~~token.~~ token, and the use of the Amass mechanic to create Jace planeswalker tokens. The set also utilizes ‘mirrored pairs’ in booster packs, offering contrasting or ‘echo’ versions of characters and spells, such as a pacifist version of Ghalta the Unstoppable. Additionally, the set introduces Hexhaven, described as a militarized version of the Strixhaven academy led by elder sphinxes. Notable leaders of the Hexhaven colleges include Denzilore Fatehold, Kwia Vigorbloom, Aerid Konstrari, Uldaros Theorix, and Ingris Stingerquill. The expansion also features significant lore connections to older characters like Kallist Rhoka.
