Initial reports regarding ‘The Zeta Set’ emerged via Scryfall, indicating a mysterious Magic: The Gathering collaboration with the art collective MSCHF. Early information suggested the set would consist of 121 unique reprints, including high-value cards like Darksteel Monolith and Oboro, Palace in the Cloud. Wizards of the Coast later officially announced the set, noting it is the first Secret Lair release to be sold in booster packs. The collection features black-and-white, playtest-style art inspired by Richard Garfield’s original Alpha development cards.
