A follow‑up notice on July 27 confirmed the $17 million total, breaking down the award into roughly $2 million for medical expenses, $6 million for pain and suffering, $8 million for permanent injury, and more than $1 million for loss of companionship. It also noted that the surgeon is no longer employed by Northern Light Health and that the Waterville hospital had been closed earlier in the year.
