Malatya agriculture and livestock fair revival

Overview

The 14th Malatya Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Fair returned to the Mişmişpark Fairground after a seven-year hiatus caused by the pandemic and the February 6 earthquakes. Initial preparations indicated approximately 100 participating companies and 150 stands, with a focus on agricultural technologies, irrigation, and livestock equipment.

Upon the event's opening at the Orduzu Fair Area, participation expanded to 160 brands. The fair features specialized sections for fruit farmers and agricultural technology, including drone demonstrations and smart farming applications. Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Sami Er stated the objective is to establish the region as a hub for smart agriculture, food, and livestock for Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia. The municipality has supported this sector through significant investments in irrigation infrastructure, closed-system conversion projects, and equipment for livestock producers.
