Overview

On September 20, 2026, the city of Luján hosted the first National Pilgrimage of Malvinas War Veterans to the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján. Organized by the Municipality of Luján in collaboration with various veterans' federations and the Sanctuary, the event brought together ex-combatants and families from across Argentina.

The pilgrimage commenced at the Malvinas Argentinas Monumental Complex and proceeded through the city to Plaza Belgrano. A Holy Mass and official ceremony were held at the Basilica to honor those who fought for national sovereignty and to commemorate the 632 compatriots who died during the 1982 conflict.
