On September 19, an excavation truck struck two teenagers riding a single bicycle electric Citi Bike in Manhattan Manhattan’s East Village as the vehicle turned north onto First Avenue from westbound East 14th Street. The collision collision, which occurred around 9 p.m., resulted in the death of a 15-year-old girl. Daria Serkov. A 13-year-old 16-year-old girl was also injured and transported to Bellevue Hospital and with a leg injury; she is reported to be in stable condition. The vehicle involved was identified as a Peterbilt hydro excavation truck operated by Badger Daylighting. The 57-year-old driver remained at the scene, scene and emergency responders from is cooperating with the NYPD and FDNY attended to investigation.
