Overview
On October 6, 2026, five workers conducting drilling operations for an offshore wind energy project were stranded on a geological survey raft near Sen Ngư, Quảng Trị province. Heavy waves and strong winds caused the raft to risk drifting uncontrollably.
A local security official and fisherman, Ngô Thanh Sơn, responded to a distress signal and used his 6-meter fishing boat to transfer all five individuals to safety.
