Martyr remains recovery in An Giang province

Overview

The K93 Team of the An Giang Provincial Military Command has been conducting operations to recover the remains of martyrs from the resistance war against the United States and the Southwest Border War.

In early August, the team recovered 11 sets of remains across two locations in An Giang province. Four unidentified sets were found in a medical cave in Tri Ton commune, while seven sets were located in a former temporary cemetery in Chi Lang ward.

Following these efforts, the team successfully identified the remains of martyr Nguyen Van Minh, a corporal from the Phu Chau District military unit, in Nhon Hoi Commune. This recovery was part of a ‘500-day campaign’ to accelerate the location of war remains. The identification was made possible through archival records and local information, providing closure to the martyr’s relatives.
