Maryland restaurant culinary recognitions
Overview
Several dining establishments in Maryland have received national culinary honors. In late October, Angeli’s Pizzeria in Ellicott City was named Maryland’s representative in Food & Wine’s “50 States of Award-Winning Pizzerias,” while Cielo Rojo in Takoma Park was recognized by Mashed for its enchiladas.
By early November, additional recognitions were reported. Il Pizzico in Rockville was named the best Italian restaurant in the state by Chowhound, noted for its Gambero Rosso “forchette” recognition. Additionally, Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana in Montgomery County was named the state’s best pizza place by Lovefood for its Neapolitan-inspired wood-fired crusts.
