A measles outbreak in Sweden has been linked to the Urkult festival in Sollefteå, resulting in at least 24 reported cases. Most of those infected are unvaccinated individuals under the age of 18. Following the initial reports, health advisories expanded to include potential transmission risks for ferry passengers. The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) issued warnings for individuals who traveled on the Viking Glory (Turku-Mariehamn-Stockholm route) on August 13 and an Eckerö Line vessel from Grisslehamn to Eckerö on August 15, as an infected individual was identified on those voyages. Although the risk of transmission on these ships is considered low, authorities continue to urge festival attendees and passengers to ensure they are vaccinated.
