Megyn Kelly controversy regarding Christina Applegate

Overview

Media personality Megyn Kelly has faced significant backlash following remarks made on ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ concerning actress Christina Applegate’s health. The controversy arose after Applegate revealed on her podcast that she may have been misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021, despite experiencing persistent, debilitating symptoms.

Kelly criticized Applegate’s decision to center her public profile around her health, suggesting the actress was creating a ‘cottage industry’ and leading followers on a ‘wild goose chase’.

Public figures have rebuked Kelly’s comments. Janice Dean, a former Fox News colleague who has lived with MS for over 20 years, described the remarks as ‘disgusting’ and defended Applegate’s transparency. Other critics, including actress Melissa Gilbert and hosts of ‘The View’, have also weighed in on the situation. Representatives for both Kelly and Applegate have declined to comment.
