Mendoza Route 60 fatal traffic accident

Overview

A head-on collision occurred on Route 60 in the Maipú department of Mendoza, involving a Volkswagen T-Cross and a Peugeot 504. The initial accident resulted in four fatalities: Ariadna Tillar, her daughters Juana Masó Tillar and Rosario Masó Tillar, and the driver of the Peugeot, Oscar Aníbal Fernández Mercau.

The death toll later rose to five following the passing of Martín Omar Tillar at Hospital Lagomaggiore. Investigations indicate the collision may have occurred when Tillar attempted to overtake another vehicle. One survivor, Florencia Bettalemmi, remained in intensive care following the impact.
