Mendoza tax administration policy and delinquency
Overview
The Mendoza Tax Administration (ATM) is managing rising tax delinquency rates alongside the development of new legislative proposals for 2027.
ATM head Alejandro Donati reported that motor vehicle tax delinquency has increased to approximately 50% in 2026, up from 25% in 2025. Real estate tax delinquency for 2025 was recorded at 24.39%. Despite these rising delinquency levels, officials expect provincial revenue for 2026 to meet or exceed budget targets.
To address tax structures, ATM presented 2027 Tax and Valuation Law initiatives to the provincial Legislature. These proposals aim to reduce the tax burden, specifically regarding the Stamp Tax, and introduce new criteria for motor vehicle and real estate taxes. To resolve previous calculation controversies, the administration plans to adopt a single valuation source from either the Association of Dealerships of the Argentine Republic (ACARA) or the National Directorate of Motor Vehicle Registries (DNRPA).
