Merano WineFestival Asia tour expansion

The Merano WineFestival has announced the ‘The WineHunter Asia Tour 2026’, an initiative designed to introduce Italian enological culture to the Asia-Pacific region.

The tour consists of two primary events in November. The first, ‘Merano WineFestival Japan’, will be held in Tokyo from November 4 to 7. This inaugural event includes a gala dinner at the Italian Embassy, a fine dining circuit, technical masterclasses, and a symposium titled ‘Merano Rencontres’ regarding wine export prospects. The Japanese leg is held under the patronage of the Italian Embassy to mark 160 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Japan.

The tour continues in Thailand on November 30 with the ‘Bangkok & Wine – Piazza Italiana’ event at the Gaysorn Urban Resort. Supported by the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce, this event targets high-level operators in the gastronomy and luxury sectors. Founder Helmuth Kocher noted that the tour aims to share the festival’s philosophy rather than merely replicating the South Tyrolean experience.
