The Castilla-La Mancha Ministry of Development has approved the land re-parceling project for the ‘Meta Data Center Campus’ in Talavera de la Reina, Toledo. This approval marks the conclusion of the urban management phase necessary before construction can begin on the facility, which is expected to be one of Europe’s largest data centers. The project is being promoted by Zarza Networks S.L., a subsidiary of Meta. Following this the initial resolution, the promoter has a ten-day deadline was required to provide a financial guarantee of 1,089,554 euros, representing the monetization of 49% of the urban development benefits required benefits. As of September 2026, Zarza Networks S.L. has fulfilled this requirement by establishing the project’s original designation as a Project necessary guarantee. This administrative milestone allows the project to move toward full legal coverage, enabling Meta to present final construction plans and apply for building licenses. The development is expected to involve an initial investment of Singular Interest. 750 million euros, with total costs potentially exceeding 1 billion euros across various phases on the 191-hectare site. Once operational, the project is projected to create 250 high-skilled direct jobs and approximately 780 indirect jobs annually within the regional supply chain, in addition to employment generated during the construction phase.
