Metal and dark genre music album announcements

Overview

In September 2026, the Indiana-based blackened speed metal band WRAITH announced their sixth studio album, ‘Descent Into Darkness’, set for release on November 13, 2026. The album, inspired by the human cost of World War I, features the single ‘Final Warning’, which frontman Matt Sokol noted draws parallels between pre-WWI tensions and modern global warning signs.

By October 2026, other artists in related genres made announcements. Progressive metal band Dark Ages scheduled the release of ‘Blind Faith’ for November 6, 2026, moving toward individual track identities centered on faith. Additionally, the solo project Lordian announced the debut album ‘Black Pastoral’ for October 22, 2026, a blend of Doom Blues, Southern Gothic, and Dark Americana exploring themes of suffering.
