Mexican actress controversy regarding Aitana Derbez

A public dispute has emerged between Mexican actresses Victoria Ruffo and Alessandra Rosaldo following comments made by Ruffo regarding Aitana Derbez, the daughter of Eugenio Derbez and Rosaldo.

The controversy began when Ruffo described the current age of children as a “very ugly age” during a discussion about a recent stage appearance. Ruffo elaborated that during adolescence, children can appear “very ugly” due to uncertain physical changes, such as being thin, heavy, or bloated. While Ruffo acknowledged Aitana’s talent in singing and dancing, her remarks regarding physical appearance drew significant criticism.

In response, Alessandra Rosaldo declined to engage directly with the controversy, stating she has no intention of commenting on “other people’s children.” Rosaldo noted that Aitana is protected from social media negativity because she does not have her own accounts. Rosaldo further clarified that her daughter is aware of the hostility present on digital platforms.

Ruffo has since expressed frustration that her words were taken out of context and asserted her intention to remain uninvolved in matters concerning her former partner’s family, stating a desire to avoid future controversies by refraining from commenting on the children of others.
