Mexican business and economic developments

Overview

The Liga Mexicana del Pacífico (LMP) has entered a new era for the 2026-27 season through its strategic partnership with Banamex. Under the league’s ‘BASE’ strategy, which serves as an institutional roadmap for professionalization and international expansion through 2030, the league has rebranded as the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico Banamex.

This alliance includes long-term brand presence across teams, stadiums, and umpires, alongside exclusive customer benefits such as early access to the 2027 Serie del Caribe in Hermosillo. To modernize the sport, the league is implementing technical regulations for the 2026-27 season, including a 30-second pitch clock to improve game tempo and an Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) video challenge system for umpires, similar to Major League Baseball. The league has also confirmed the return of the Mayos de Navojoa franchise.

In the broader economic landscape, JETOUR SOUEAST continues to work toward a milestone of 1,000 monthly units in Mexico, while the financial services sector focuses on integrating AI and data to build consumer trust. Additionally, Mexican officials are working to strengthen regional supply chains ahead of the T-MEC review and seeking to increase steel exports at the G20 ministerial meeting.
