Mexican municipal administration activity reports

Mexican municipal leaders have been presenting annual activity reports detailing local administration and development efforts.

In Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mayor Miriam Soto Ornelas delivered a report covering her five-year term, highlighting nearly 200 million pesos in infrastructure investments. These projects included street interventions, the modernization of the Paseo Zaragoza commercial corridor, and highway renovations, alongside agricultural support exceeding 70 million pesos.

Other municipal reports highlighted various regional priorities. In Mineral del Monte, Mayor Edmundo Méndez Tejeda noted a 10 percent budget increase used for public security, officer training, and digital tax systems. In Tula, Tamaulipas, Mayor René Lara Cisneros presented a report focused on tourism and agricultural growth, with plans to develop commercial corridors and improve resources for local livestock producers.

Expanding on these regional activities, Tamaulipas Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya has attended several municipal reports to emphasize state support for local development. In Jaumave, the Governor attended Mayor Manuel Báez Martínez’s second report, noting the municipality receives over 900 million pesos in federal and state support to combat extreme poverty and improve rural roads.

In Llera, following Mayor Moisés Antonio Borjón Olvera’s second report, the Governor commended the coordinated efforts of cattle ranchers and veterinarians in containing the cattle screwworm plague and committed to rehabilitating the Zaragoza to Ejido López Mateos highway. During the second report of Mayor René Lara Cisneros in Tula, the Governor discussed the new Mante-Ocampo-Tula highway and initiatives to provide better prices for livestock producers through certified slaughterhouses.

Additionally, Mayor Erik Catalán Rendón of Iguala submitted a second government report to the State Congress, detailing administrative progress and a commitment to transparency.
