In August 2026, Mexico held various selection events and announcements for its para-sports national teams aimed at qualifying for major international competitions. Early in the month, approximately 100 athletes participated in the second stage of the Mexican Para Powerlifting Circuit at the Centro Paralímpico Mexicano (CEPAMEX). This event served as a qualifier for the 2026 Parapan American Open Championship, the 2027 Lima Parapan Games, and the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games. Later in the month, Mexico announced a six-member para-archery national team selected to compete in the 2026 Parapan American Championship in Lima, Peru. Peru, from October 21 to 25.
