Mexican police operations against robbery and drugs

Overview

Law enforcement operations in Mexico have resulted in several arrests related to robbery and drug offenses.

In mid-September, state and municipal police in Hidalgo arrested a 26-year-old suspect in Tepeapulco. The individual was linked to at least seven convenience store robberies across Hidalgo and the State of Mexico. Authorities seized a replica firearm, various quantities of suspected marijuana and crystal meth, mobile phones, and a motorcycle with altered identification.

By early October, police conducted further operations. In one instance, municipal agents arrested two men following a violent bank robbery where the victim was threatened with a simulated firearm. In a separate incident near the Puerto Cancún shopping center, authorities detained two individuals and seized a .380 caliber pistol, marijuana, and crystal meth.
