Overview
Legislative efforts to criminalize stalking have emerged in Mexican states. Following this, the Chihuahua State Congress unanimously approved incorporating stalking into its State Penal Code. This legislation, presented by Jael Argüelles Díaz of the Feminicide Commission, defines the crime through physical or technological means intended to control, intimidate, or coerce. Convictions carry prison terms of one to three years and fines, with increased penalties for crimes involving minors, domestic relationships, or perpetrators in positions of power.
