As the PVEM continues its reorganization for the 2026–2027 election cycle, the party is experiencing significant membership growth and territorial expansion. National Electoral Institute (INE) verifications show the party’s valid registrations grew from 592,417 in 2023 to 1,061,319 in 2026, moving the PVEM from fourth to second place in national rankings behind Morena. In the State of Mexico, valid affiliations rose by 114 percent over the same period, growing from approximately 69,000 to over 149,000 members. Political shifts and alliance strategies are evolving. In Baja California, the PVEM intends to maintain its alliance with Morena, positioning Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño for reelection via binding surveys. However, tensions have emerged in Coahuila, Zacatecas, and Chihuahua due to perceived favoritism toward the Labor Party (PT) by Morena. In Puebla, the party is negotiating for more federal deputy candidacies within the existing coalition while planning to compete in only 170 of the state's 246 municipalities to maximize resources. In the State of Mexico, the party has launched a territorial organization phase across all 125 municipalities. During a ceremony in Ocoyoacac, state leader José Alberto Couttolenc Buentello swore in 5,000 environmental defenders to implement a cell-based structure.
