The Hoy No Circula program continued its rotating vehicle bans through ~~early September~~ mid-September 2026 across Mexico City and the State of Mexico. ~~On September 4,~~ Following the restrictions on September 7, which targeted ~~blue-sticker~~ yellow-sticker vehicles ~~with license plate endings 8 or 9~~ (plates 5 and 6) with holograms 1 or ~~2. This day also saw significant transit and environmental challenges; ozone and PM2.5/PM10 levels reached~~ 2, the ~~‘Bad’ category, and mass transit was heavily impacted by a technical failure on Metro Line 2 and congestion on Metro Line 3. Additionally, road blockades due~~ program moved to ~~protests at Avenida Juárez and Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas hindered approximately 4,500 vehicles per hour.
