Migration authorities in the Dominican Republic and Mexico have intensified enforcement operations targeting undocumented individuals. In the Dominican Republic, the Dirección General de Migración (DGM) has reported various incidents, including the arrest of nationals for transporting Haitian citizens and the detention of a Haitian man for possessing a homemade firearm. In Mexico, the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) detained Cuban nationals at a highway checkpoint for lacking legal documentation. Following these enforcement efforts, Dominican authorities recently repatriated approximately 50 Haitian nationals from nationals—comprising 47 men and four women—from a processing center in Haina to the border town of Pedernales.
