Mike Tomlin Minecraft project reveal
Overview
Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has revealed a massive virtual city he has been constructing in Minecraft for approximately 12 years. Tomlin, who used the game’s Creative Mode to pursue architectural interests, launched a YouTube channel to showcase the project.
The digital metropolis includes residential complexes, commercial zones, hotels, luxury penthouses, and stadiums. Tomlin noted the project began as a way to connect with his children during their middle school years. He described the hobby as therapeutic, stating it allowed him to “detach from the pressures and the reality of life.”
During a video tour, Tomlin highlighted various structures, including a building labeled ‘Trump Tower’ constructed around 2015. An on-screen disclaimer clarified the structure was not intended as a political endorsement. While some former players and analysts have criticized the hobby as a distraction from professional football, the project has garnered significant viewership on his new channel.
