Miley Cyrus Hollywood Bowl performances and fan tribute

Overview

Miley Cyrus performed an emotional tribute to her late godmother, country music legend Dolly Parton, during a concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Parton passed away on August 25, 2026, at age 80 following a battle with cancer.

During the performance, Cyrus shared personal anecdotes regarding their bond and performed Parton’s hit song ‘Jolene’ while images of Parton were displayed on screen. Cyrus described their connection as eternal, stating, ‘Me and Dolly, we are eternal. Nothing in this life could tear us apart.’

Cyrus also addressed social media criticism regarding her engagement during the concert series, titled ‘Miley: Bass Persuades, Live at the Hollywood Bowl’. She responded to ‘clickbait’ videos and content creators who use negative evaluations to drive engagement, defending her commitment to her craft. She stated, ‘I can take a lot, but one thing I will not stand is any question about where my heart is when I’m on the stage.’

In a notable moment during the series, Cyrus met with Cash Jacobs, a fan from New York battling stage 3 breast cancer. Following a request from Jacobs, who noted that Cyrus’s music helped her through difficult times, Cyrus fulfilled a request to shave her head, a moment that was subsequently shared on social media.
