Minnesota Vikings offensive performance and Kyler Murray

Overview

Early in the season, the Minnesota Vikings faced scrutiny regarding their offensive efficiency despite an undefeated record and a top-tier defense. Concerns centered on quarterback Kyler Murray, as the team managed only one touchdown across 24 offensive drives in a two-game span. This sparked speculation about potential trades to bolster the quarterback position.

Following a bye week, Murray’s performance improved, leading to a rise in Pro Football Focus quarterback rankings to 19th. This ascent was supported by a low turnover-worthy play rate. The Vikings secured a 23-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints, a game in which Murray recorded 229 passing yards, one touchdown, and 51 rushing yards.
