Missing pilot search in Ontario

Authorities launched a search operation in Ontario for a 73-year-old experienced pilot, identified as David, who went missing after departing Oshawa Airport in a home-built aircraft on August 14, 2026. The aircraft, a blue and yellow single-engine plane with the tail markings ‘FOFZ’, was last believed to be near Balsam Lake.
By August 16, the aircraft was located on Wolf Lake in Queen Elizabeth II Provincial Park. The Trenton Joint Rescue Coordination Centre confirmed the discovery, and the Ontario Provincial Police have transitioned the investigation into a missing person’s case. Search efforts continue to locate the pilot.
