The Missouri State Fair has undergone significant infrastructure and community-focused developments. The fairgrounds recently opened the $31 million Governor Michael L. Parson Arena, a multi-use facility described by Governor Mike Kehoe as a “world class facility.” This project was part of a larger $70 million legislative investment in fairground infrastructure intended to boost state tourism. During the 2026 fair, agricultural initiatives ~~also~~ focused on social impact and youth support. The Missouri Farmers Care Foundation’s ‘Drive to Feed Kids’ program, supported by FFA and 4-H members, provided ~~over 825,000~~ 825,196 meals to families facing food insecurity. ~~Furthermore, livestock sales such as the~~ FFA members packed over 252,000 meals, while 4-H members raised resources for more than 250,000 meals. Livestock competitions also saw significant engagement, with over 3,000 youth exhibitors from 4-H and FFA participating in more than 29,000 entries. The Sale of Champions and Best of Missouri Sale raised ~~$384,500, with~~ approximately $385,000, including a record $62,500 sale for a Grand Champion Barrow. These proceeds ~~contributing to~~ support the Missouri State Fair Foundation’s Youth in Agriculture fund for student scholarships. According to Director Jason Moore, the 11-day event drew 333,489 attendees. Future development plans for 2027 include road upgrades, the addition of nearly 500 campsites, and the construction of an ancillary barn to connect the Parson Arena with the sheep barn to create a large multi-use complex.
