Monitor manufacturer price increases

Monitor manufacturers are implementing price increases across their product portfolios due to rising production and procurement costs for essential components.

AOC first notified partners of upcoming adjustments, citing increased expenses for chips, internal controller boards, PCBs, and power-management components. The company noted that panel manufacturers are shifting capacity toward automotive and industrial displays, reducing the availability of consumer-grade panels. Furthermore, components like scaler chips and timing controllers are competing for semiconductor capacity with the PC, television, and data-center sectors.

Following AOC’s announcement, KTC also declared upcoming price hikes across its entire portfolio, stating it can no longer absorb these additional expenses internally. KTC is currently negotiating with suppliers to delay the impact, while noting that rising costs for specialized parts, such as Mini-LED backlights and display controllers, are contributing to broader industry pricing pressure.

Recent updates indicate that the surge in demand for hardware related to artificial intelligence technologies is further disrupting supply balances and increasing component costs. KTC has advised consumers to consider current pricing before adjustments take effect, suggesting that existing rates offer a “good price-performance advantage” prior to the implementation of the hikes. While specific models and exact percentage increases remain undisclosed, the trend is expected to impact the broader gaming monitor market.
