Political tension has escalated in Montenegro regarding an initiative to dismiss Speaker of Parliament Andrija Mandić. The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) introduced the dismissal initiative following Mandić’s decision to send a condolence telegram regarding the death of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić. DPS leader Danijel Živković framed the move as a matter of European values, noting support from the Bosniak Party, the Albanian Forum, and MP Sead Hadžić. An attempt to process the dismissal during an extraordinary session on September 24 failed due to a lack of quorum. Andrija Nikolić, head of the DPS parliamentary club, noted that members of the Democratic People's Party (DNP), led by Milan Knežević, did not attend, effectively preventing the initiative from being processed through obstruction.
