Montenegro continues to manage significant infrastructure developments, including highway expansion and bridge reconstruction. The Đurđevića Tara bridge on the M-6 highway has transitioned through several phases of disruption. Following a period of total suspension for both vehicles and pedestrians, the bridge reopened to passenger vehicles and buses as of October 21, 2026. However, traffic remains restricted to alternating single lanes with daily closures scheduled between 10:00 and 15:30. A ban on freight vehicles exceeding 3.5 tons remains in effect until all works are finalized. In response to safety concerns in Sutomore, the Traffic Administration has completed technical documentation for safety improvements, including the installation of vibration strips and enhanced signaling. Ongoing ~~traffic~~ disruptions reported by the Auto-moto savez Crne Gore (AMSCG) ~~affect regional roads R-15, R-29, and R-17, as well as the Krakalice–Dubočica stretch and the Sozina Tunnel. Specific restrictions~~ include ~~tunnel scanning near Lokve~~ scheduled total closures on the ~~Berane–Rožaje highway~~ R-15 regional road (Ulići junction to Rijeka Crnojevića) between October 14 and ~~weight limits~~ November 14, and on the ~~R-1~~ R-17 regional road ~~near Kotor.~~ (Čevo–Riđani) from 08:00 to 14:00 daily. The R-29 regional road also faces daily suspensions between 08:00–11:00 and 13:00–16:00. Maintenance in the Sozina Tunnel involves alternating traffic or short total closures between 22:00 and 06:00, scheduled through June 15, 2027. Additionally, AMSCG has warned motorists of landslide risks in canyons and gorges due to weather conditions. Newer regional modernization efforts include a nearly 968,000 euro investment by the Ministry of Public Works to adapt the road from Velje Duboko to Kapetanovo Jezero. Work is also progressing on the 11-kilometer Andrijevica-Jošanica route and the 11 million euro Veruša-Lopate connection. Preparatory works have commenced on the €237.5 million Budva bypass, specifically the Markovići – Lastva Grbaljska section. Additionally, Monteput has received 22 bids for the Smokovac–Tološi section of the Bar–Boljare highway, while the government has approved land expropriation in Kotor, Budva, Bar, and Ulcinj for various bypass and reconstruction projects.
