Mostafa Mohamed transfer to Konyaspor

Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed was initially linked to a potential transfer from FC Nantes to the Turkish club Konyaspor. Following FC Nantes’ relegation to the French second division, Mohamed faced disciplinary issues and was training separately from the first team after missing pre-season activities.

Reports regarding the move were initially conflicting, with some outlets suggesting Konyaspor might prioritize signing a winger instead of a striker. However, the situation escalated as Mohamed missed training sessions without justification, leading FC Nantes coach Michel Der Zakarian to state the club had “lost contact with the player” and had stopped paying his salary.

Mohamed eventually completed the transfer to Konyaspor, signing a contract through 2029 for an estimated fee of €750,000 to €1 million. His transition to the Turkish league has been challenging, as Konyaspor lost its first four matches of the 2026-2027 season and Mohamed has yet to score a goal.
