MotoGP Mandalika 2026 preparations

Overview

Preparations for the 2026 MotoGP Mandalika, scheduled for October 9–11, have focused on both commercial and security fronts. By late September, ticket sales reached approximately 70 percent of the 150,000 available seats. To reach the target of over 140,000 spectators, the West Nusa Tenggara provincial government implemented promotional roadshows and collaborated with InJourney to improve airport access, while offering discounts to local residents and BNI customers.

Simultaneously, authorities conducted a large-scale security simulation at the Mandalika International Circuit named ‘Operasi Mandalika Rinjani 2026’. The exercise involved 2,678 personnel from the Indonesian National Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and local government agencies. The drills tested readiness for various emergency scenarios, including bomb threat mitigation, fire response, VVIP escorts, and managing protests, to ensure spectator and guest safety.
