Multi-color 3D printer market and hardware developments

The multi-color 3D printing market has seen recent developments in hardware expansion and consumer pricing. Shenzhen-based manufacturer Creality initially announced advancements to its SPARKX line, including the release of the SPARKX i7 Nano. This model features a compact filament feeding system supporting up to four colors and an integrated AI camera for monitoring.

Following these technical announcements, market activity shifted toward promotional pricing for multi-color combo systems. Creality offered discounts on the K2 Plus Combo, which can support up to 16 colors through multiple connected filament systems. Simultaneously, Anycubic introduced price reductions for its Kobra S1 Combo, a system that includes the ACE Pro for four-color printing and continuous filament drying.

At IFA 2026, Creality expanded its digital fabrication portfolio with a focus on reducing material waste. The company unveiled the K3 printer, which utilizes a KliTek multi-channel system to enable nozzle changes in 4.8 seconds, aiming to reduce print time by up to 80% and material waste by 85%. Additionally, the SPARKX i8 was introduced, featuring a QuarTeks 4-channel print head designed to enable filament switching in under one second to minimize purging waste. The SPARKX i8 is expected to launch via crowdfunding platforms such as Indiegogo in September 2026.

Other recent hardware additions include the M1 Filament Maker, which received an IFA Innovation Award for its ability to process plastic for reuse, as well as the large-format Ender-3 V3 Mega, HALOT-X1 resin printers, the Pika 3D scanner, and Nexbie 3D-printed footwear.
