While the PPM Madeira party has criticized the administration for rising housing unaffordability and an increase in homelessness driven by luxury real estate, the Health Administration Institute (IASAÚDE, IP-RAM) reported significant investments. Specifically, investments—including over 3.8 million euros have been allocated to health programs, including programs such as the Kit Bebé program, Bebé, vision, and dental services, services benefiting more than 10,000 residents. residents—political opposition has intensified. The party also called for better coordination between the Municipal Chamber, the Regional Government, and Social Security to address rising homelessness. Additionally, the JPP, represented by Isabel Santos, accused the PSD/CDS majority of rejecting all 13 of its recent proposals. Santos emphasized that the city must grow “without displacing its own citizens,” citing concerns over the high cost of living, mobility, urban cleanliness, and the maintenance of public spaces and coastal ecosystems outside the city center.
