The luxury bridal boutique My Vintage Dress in São Paulo is facing significant legal and operational crises following widespread consumer complaints. Initially, reports emerged that numerous brides were left without wedding dresses shortly before their ceremonies, leading to confrontations between customers and at the establishment. The boutique’s owner, Camila Rossi, denied fraud allegations, attributing the issues to production challenges and an exceptional volume of orders. The business has since accumulated 12 lawsuits and 56 complaints on the consumer platform Reclame Aqui. Beyond the fraud probe, the boutique is also facing an eviction lawsuit filed by its property owner due to unpaid property taxes exceeding R$ 41,000. In recent developments, Camila Rossi has offered a new defense, claiming claimed the business disruption was caused by an employee embezzling approximately R$ 1 million. Her lawyer, Luiz Augusto Filizzola D'Urso, stated that Rossi has personally invested approximately R$ 600,000 to maintain operations. To prioritize existing commitments, the store has suspended new sales to focus on fulfilling more than 300 pending orders scheduled through the end of the year.
