The Nagaland government has initiated a comprehensive restructuring of its state school system to improve educational quality, infrastructure, and enrollment. Initial reform plans involve the amalgamation or closure of low-enrollment institutions and the creation of composite schools to ensure educational continuity. To address technical subject shortages, the state intends to conduct emergency recruitment for mathematics, physics, and chemistry teachers, while also rationalizing staff deployment. Following these structural plans, To modernize the curriculum, the government has entered a partnership with Google involving an investment of over Rs 10 crore. To support these technological advancements, the state also proposes game design to connect youth to global opportunities. Additionally, the Nagaland Education Association, Nagaland University, and Alder College have conducted workshops in Kohima to train faculty on Artificial Intelligence and the SWAYAM platform, aiming to provide accessible, fee-free digital education to students and professionals.
