Naples and Tangier cultural exchange project

Overview

The 2027 Di Meo Calendar, titled ‘Napoli Tangeri, Dialoghi Mediterranei’ (Naples–Tangier, Mediterranean Dialogues), has been presented in Tangier to mark the 25th anniversary of the artistic and cultural project directed by Generoso Di Meo.

The project utilizes photography by Massimo Listri and contributions from twelve cultural figures to explore the historical, architectural, and cultural connections between the port cities of Naples and Tangier. It frames the two cities as Mediterranean ports united by centuries of exchange in commerce, religion, and language.

The official presentation occurred at the Moulay Hafid Palace, also known as the Palace of Italian Institutions, following a reception at the Tangier American Legation. The publication includes a preface by Ambassador Pasquale Salzano and focuses on Tangier’s cosmopolitan history, museums, and historic residences.
