Narcotics enforcement in Dong Nai province

Overview

In mid-August 2026, police in Dong Nai City apprehended four individuals suspected of organizing illegal drug use after a residency inspection. The suspects tested positive for methamphetamine, and authorities recovered drug paraphernalia during the search.

Shortly after, authorities intercepted a major smuggling attempt near the Cambodian border in Loc Tan commune. Following a high-speed chase with a taxi, border guards and task forces seized approximately 18kg of suspected methamphetamine and 2kg of suspected heroin. The driver and two accomplices were detained after admitting the narcotics were being transported from Cambodia for distribution within Vietnam.
