NasDem Party interim replacement disputes in Indonesia

The NasDem Party has faced challenges regarding the interim replacement (PAW) process for several regional legislative positions in Indonesia.

In Sorong, the KPU Sorong has delayed the replacement of a NasDem member of the Sorong City Regional House of Representatives due to ongoing legal disputes involving Demanto Silalahi. KPU Chairperson Hilman Jafar stated the commission is awaiting legal certainty to avoid complications. While activists argue the replacement should proceed because previous lawsuits were procedurally incorrect, the KPU remains in a holding pattern.

In Southeast Sulawesi, the NasDem Party Central Leadership Board officially dismissed La Ode Tariala from party membership for violating internal rules. The party has requested the initiation of the interim replacement process for his role as Chairman of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional House of Representatives. The regional leadership has instructed the DPRD to follow legal procedures to forward the replacement request to the KPU.
