Officials criticized bureaucratic and digital hurdles, such as complex application processes and technical issues like two-factor authentication, which can delay essential benefits. In Duisburg, organizations including the Diakoniewerk Duisburg and the Ökumenische Bahnhofsmission held awareness events, noting that State Statistical Office of NRW data indicated 2,880 homeless individuals were accommodated in the city on the reporting date.
