Overview
Turkey has reported several natural and accidental incidents involving fires and flooding across different regions.
In Antalya’s Kepez district, a wildfire in shrubland spread quickly due to wind, prompting residents and emergency services to work to protect nearby homes and shanties. In Sinop’s Türkeli district, heavy rainfall caused a stream to overflow after a culvert was blocked, leading to the death of 32 poultry animals and trapping two elderly women in their home before they were rescued by gendarmerie and AFAD teams.
Additionally, in Malatya’s Darende district, firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out in the wheels of a truck carrying vehicles, preventing the flames from spreading to the cargo.
